When audiences settle in for Broadway's "Million Dollar Quartet" on Sept. 10, they'll be treated to a live performance from rock 'n' roll legend Jerry Lee Lewis -- both the real one and the actor who plays him on stage.

Lewis is scheduled to make a one-night appearance with the cast of the Tony-nominated show  at the Nederlander Theatre in New York. In the musical, Tony-winning actor Levi Kreis plays Lewis as a young man.

A spokeswoman for Lewis said that the the 74-year-old singer is expected to appear at the end of the evening's performance for an encore-type concert with members of the ensemble cast.

"Million Dollar Quartet" is a jukebox musical that follows a meeting of Lewis, Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash and Carl Perkins on Dec. 4, 1956, at Sun Records in Memphis. The show received a Tony nomination for best musical and book of a musical.

Lewis' appearance is tied to the promotion of his new album "Mean Old Man," which will be released on Sept. 7 on Verve/Universal Music Enterprises.

Lewis isn't the first famous singer to perform live onstage with the "Million Dollar Quartet" cast. Melissa Etheridge stopped by the Nederlander on June 23 for a one-night performance.
