Two separate killings took place Friday in Compton, police said.
In one case, a man was stabbed to death, allegedly by his 23-year-old sister, police said. The attack occurred at 11:50 a.m. at a home in the 800 block of West Magnolia Street, near Wilmington Avenue.
Police said the siblings apparently were fighting for unknown reasons when the sister allegedly stabbed her brother. His name has not been released.
Patricia Gomez was arrested at the scene, police said. She was being held in custody in lieu of $1-million bail.
In the second incident, a Latino man was shot to death at 6:55 p.m. in the 100 block of South Alameda Street, near Compton Boulevard, authorities said.
The victim's name has not been released.
“We don’t know the circumstances of his death at this time,” said Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Deputy Jeff Gordon.
