After Hurricane Earl lashed the Caribbean Monday, the storm continued to grow, as does the threat to the eastern United States.
A Hurricane Center meteorologist told the Associated Press that residents from North Carolina to Maine should keep an eye on the storm's progression.
Taking to social networks, some discussed their anxieties about how the storm could affect their homes -- or ruin their Labor Day weekends.
