Things are back to normal at Los Angeles International Airport after a security snafu briefly closed a terminal and delayed eight flights early Saturday.

Airport police and the Transportation Security Administration shut down Terminal 8 at about 5:15 a.m. after a report of a possible security breach near an exit staircase.

It was reported earlier that three terminals had been shut down after the security breach.

The terminal, which serves United and other airlines, was reopened at about 6:40 a.m. after a review of videotape determined that no breach occurred, said airport police Sgt. Belinda Nettles.

As a precautionary measure, the terminal was searched by police dogs and passengers were re-screened.

Authorities are investigating to determine whether the exit staircase was left unattended, Nettles said.
