The Senate has passed a sweeping financial reform in a major win for President Obama. It's considered the most far-reaching overhaul of the financial sector since the Great Depression.
For a more in-depth look at the set of reforms, read The Times' look into the financial overhaul.
Commenters on that story were less-than-enthused with the bill than the left-leaning Senate and White House seemed to be.
Marcom: What good is this phony financial 'reform' bill when nearly 20 million people are out of work.
RepsaJkraM: It just galls me, these old white men, patting themselves on the back when they were in office when the this happened. Their watch.
Eldergent: Another bill thrown together behind closed doors that will not be read by most of those voting on it. A sure bet to benefit politicians at the public's expense.
