After much ballyhoo, a judge in Beverly Hills ordered actress Lindsay Lohan to jail Tuesday morning and promised there would be no electronic monitoring or house arrest that could reduce the actress' 90-day sentence. [Updated: 02:37 p.m., PDT: We spoke too soon here at Comments Blog. Lohan is expected to be released on Aug. 2, meaning she would have served only 14 days of her 90-day sentence, according to a Sheriff's
Department booking document.]
After the hearing Lohan -- who remained poised during the hearing -- was transported to Century Regional Detention Facility in Lynwood to serve her sentence.
In a strange twist, she will serve her term in the same facility as Alexis Neiers, the 19-year-old known for her E! Entertainment reality show "Pretty Wild, who is serving a 180-day sentence for felony first-degree residential burglary. She pleaded no contest to the charge, which stemmed from her role in the "bling ring" crew that targeted celebrity homes, including Lohan’s home.
Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department officials have said Lohan's actual time behind bars could amount to 25% of her sentence -- though given jail overcrowding some think it may be less.
Though we recognize some of you -- or maybe just us -- have been Lohan'ed out over the last few weeks of spectacle-worthy court appearances. Here is some of what our readers had to say:

Eileen Curras wrote: Seems that the judge has already made her mind with Lindsay Lohan. The judge Marsha Revel likes the attention too and we only have speculations.
Carolyn Washington wrote: Just because Lohan is and actress does not mean she deserves special treatment. Rich and famous does not mean youare above the law and the justice system needs to stop treating the rich and famous as if they are.
meck wrote: No! This is not a waste of taxpayer dollars. This is to set an example that even because you're rich and famous, you won't get off for violating probation. These young punks need to be taught their lesson, so they don't do worse offenses in the future. I agree with the judge, throw her in jail!! There are other stupid ways we waste taxpayer dollars. Sending criminals to jail is not one of them.
Oak wrote: So your saying your not afraid of drunk drivers? I don't think its a waste of tax money considering she's only going to spend a fraction of her sentence behind bars.
Share your thoughts below. Will she learn from this ordeal and be able to reclaim her career? Now that you know she isn't going to serve all 90 days of her sentence, what do you think of the outcome? Was she treated differently?
